Reason and overview of the Service Bulletin (cause of problem if known)

It has been found that if the Super B battery should fail through electrical overload, then this can result in the generation of smoke (but not fire). This smoke generation could occur in flight, creating an operational hazard and pilot stress. Failure of a normal lead acid battery does not generate such a hazard.
